EBB Farms, Expect Big Bucks
A Chestnut Orchard with Big Roots in Western Kentucky
Rooted in Real Work. Built for the Long Haul.
EBB Farms is a thriving chestnut orchard nestled in the hills of western Kentucky—founded by Brad and Melanie Jones and grounded in the belief that small farms can grow big ideas.
What began in 2017 as an experiment with Chinese hybrid chestnuts has evolved into a living, breathing model for the future of chestnuts in the United States:
regenerative, resilient, and repeatable.
Here, every decision is hands-on, and every harvest tells a story.
EBB Farms doesn’t just grow chestnuts—it grows momentum for a national movement.
Meet the Team Behind the Trees
Brad Jones
Brad is the heartbeat of EBB Farms (Expect Big Bucks), guiding each season from seed to soil with care and precision. He manages the full cycle of chestnut tree production—starting in the greenhouse, moving through the nursery, and planting in both his own orchards and others across the region.
Today, EBB Farms is home to over 2,000 thriving chestnut trees spread across nearly 200 acres of western Kentucky farmland. And the momentum is only growing—Brad is adding approximately 1,000 new trees each year with thousands more in the nurseries for customers.
Melanie Jones
Melanie is a grower, strategist, and co-founder of United Chestnuts. She brings the long view—shaping vision, capturing stories, and turning lessons from the farm into tools other growers can use. She’s the bridge between what’s happening in the field and what’s possible across the country.
