Originating as an open-pollinated seedling likely from “Sleeping Giant,” Eaton trees produce medium-to-large chestnuts averaging 12–13 grams, with a sweet, rich flavor that shines whether roasted or eaten raw. The nuts ripen in the mid-to-late season, making Eaton a strong addition to orchards looking for staggered harvests. Hardy in USDA Zones 5–8, this cultivar is well-suited for growers across much of the eastern and central U.S.
