6′ Tree Tube + 84″ Rebar Stake (Farm Pickup Only)

Give your chestnut seedlings the shot they deserve. This is the exact 6-foot tree tube and 84-inch rebar stake setup we run on our own trees at EBB Farms — the combo that keeps young chestnuts safe from deer, rabbits, voles, string trimmers, wind, and sunscald long enough to actually get above the browse line.  Pickup when you pick up your trees at the farm.

What’s included

• 1 × 6′ solid-wall tree tube (tan/UV-stable, flared top edge, pre-drilled mounting holes)

• 1 × 84″ (7-foot) rebar stake

• 2 × heavy-duty UV zip ties for tube-to-stake mounting

Why 6 feet and 84 inches

• 6′ tube gets your seedling well past whitetail deer browse height so the leader can push into open air without getting nipped back year after year.

• 84″ rebar stake drives deep and stands tall — enough steel in the ground to hold the tube upright through Kentucky wind and ice, and enough above ground to secure the tube at two points.

• Solid wall (not mesh) creates the greenhouse effect chestnuts love in Year 1 — warmer air, higher humidity, faster early growth — while shutting out rabbits, voles, and weed-whip damage at the base.

• Flared top keeps young stems from chafing as they exit the tube.

Best for
Chestnut seedlings and grafted trees in open field, edge, or converted row-crop ground where deer pressure is real and you want the tree — not the browser — to win.

How we use them at EBB Farms
Stake driven ~18″ into the ground on the north side of the seedling, tube slipped over the tree and zip-tied to the stake at the top and bottom mounting holes. That’s it. We leave them on for the first several years, check ties each spring, and pull tubes once the tree is clearly out and thriving.
