Michael Parks – Chestnut Farmer Shares His Story on Branching Out: Growing Together Podcast

He focused on the Eaton variety for its flavor and early harvest, later incorporating the Qing variety for a consistent supply.

The conversation highlighted the challenges he faces in educating grocery store managers about chestnuts and the importance of consumer education, especially within ethnic communities that traditionally consume the product. Both speakers expressed concerns about the potential commodification of chestnuts while acknowledging the dedication required to maintain successful orchards.
